The Heart of Montenegro

Description

A cultural and historical journey which gives you the chance to explore this country of contrasts while enjoying its natural beauty. First up is a walking tour through history-steeped Cetinje. See King Nikola’s Palace to give you a flavour of what this elegant town was once like.

Then it’s on to Njegusi, with incredible views on the way. In this tiny village, you’ll sample locally produced cheese, smoked ham, mead and wine. Make sure not to lose your breath on one of the pauses after lunch that will provide you with a best view on Boka Bay you could possibly have. We continue our journey to Kotor, a medieval Mediterranean jewel under the protection of UNESCO. In a city where every stone tells its own history, we will enjoy a tour through the narrow streets and a view of the historical buildings. After a short break, we continue to Perast, another pearl of Boka Kotorska and a beautiful baroque fairy tale. We will visit one of the two islands in front of Perast, the more interesting one, made from the desire and effort of local residents to build a church dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin on that very rock. This island is called Gospa od Skrpjela.
